Christians would know that in the Bible, Paul addressed the issue about grooming our bodies especially our hair. He does not refer to fashion or law but to nature. Here is the text from the Bible which was from 1 Corinthians 11:2-16. 2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. 3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. 4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. 5 But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head--it is the same as having her head shaved. 6 For if a wife will not cover her head, then she should cut her hair short. But since it is disgraceful for a wife to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her head. 7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. 8 For man did not come from woman, but woman from man. 9 Neither was a man created for woman, but woman for man. 10 It is for this reason that a woman ought to have authority over her own head, because of the angels. 11 Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man nor man of woman. 12 For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman but all things of God. 13 Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? 14 Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him. 15 But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her, for her hair is given her for a covering. 16 If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice--nor do the churches of God.
This makes us question ourselves on who really does have the power over our bodies. Is it God? Are we shaming God if we do something about it, such as piercing our earrings or having tattoos? Is that what Paul was trying to convey? Can we not do anything about how men and women differ just as what Paul said? Does hair has a very special meaning? There are rallies and movements around the old claiming that women need empowerment. That women deserve to be given more rights. But when you ponder about what Paul said, women cannot change anything about it. Since women are women and men are men. Know about The Reformed Conservative here!
Looking at the Religious aspect of it, God created us as unique beings. That is why we should honor God by respecting our own bodies. We each have our own individuality and we should thank Him for it.
On the other side of the argument is that we each have our own minds and we are free to groom our body on our own preferences. Biblical talks are merely hypocritical.
Now let us go over and try to think if we have ever considered this thinking once in our life. This issue is not talked mostly since we are too consumed with the internet and other distractions. Let us talk about this now. What can you say from what Paul said? Be sure to see page here!
